Location of the 83 Mile House Farm Equipment Museum and Historic Site

83 Mile House is easy to find and conveniently located close to camp grounds,
resorts, restaurants, motels, and shopping. In the days when the wagon road
(now highway 97) was first built it was eighty three miles from Lillooet and
seventeen miles from 100 Mile House. Do to the up grading of Highway 97 the
distances are now much shorter. Here are some approximate distances and driving
instructions.
- Heading north from 70 Mile House you'll see 83 Mile on your left
after driving about 17 KM. It's at the bottom of the big hill (Begbie
Summit) that you'll see. 83 Mile Road will be on your right.
- Heading South from 100 Mile House you'll see 83 Mile on your right
after driving about 29 KM. It's at the bottom of the big hill (Begbie
Summit) that you'll drive down. 83 Mile Road will be on your left.
- Coming from either dirrection watch for the big blue sign that says
"Farm Equipment Museum Ahead". You then turn on Montessa Rd which is right
beside the now closed 83 Mile restaurant and gas station.
- From the highway you can easily see the old horse barn, all of the farm
equipment in the yard, and the sign at the end of their driveway there's a sign
that says "83 Mile Farm Equipment Museum". (See the photo below.)
- By the time you get parked either Ray and/or Vi will probably be there to
welcome you!

Everyone is welcome - individuals, bus tours, resort groups, school field trips,
and senior groups - locals and tourists. There is lots of free parking on site.

from the 83 Mile and is the main shopping center for the area. Here you'll find
motels, restaurants, and shopping.
